A fuss-free guide to Disney and vacation planning

Boardwalk Villas: It’s All About Location

Disney-Boardwalk-night-life

On our last trip to Disney World we had the opportunity to stay at Boardwalk Villas. This is the Disney Vacation Club side of Boardwalk Inn. The resort is themed to a 1910s Jersey Shore carnival. It features old-timey carnival rides in an upscale beachy atmosphere. Let’s take a look!

The Lobby

The Lobby of the Boardwalk Villas features white washed arches pointing to a vaulted ceiling with gorgeous gold chandeliers. Floral furniture and artwork featuring early carousels and midway games pulls together the theming.

It’s especially beautiful at Christmas time with the decorations full of cutout paper animals and brightly colored glass ornaments.

The Room

Like most standard Disney Vacation Club studios, these rooms have a large entryway, a bathroom with tub and shower, a small kitchenette.

The main living space includes a queen size bed, a couch that pulls down into a murphy bed, and a single murphy bed. Even if you don’t use the pull down beds, it’s worth it to peek at the artwork behind the murphy. They’re always beautiful and adorable.

These rooms also have a balcony, or in the case of our ground floor room, a patio.

The Boardwalk

The thing that makes Boardwalk Villas truly unique among Disney resorts is the Boardwalk area. The boardwalk features 3 sit down restaurants (soon to be 4 when the Cake Bake Shop opens later in 2023), a quick service counter, and a variety of other food kiosks to include an ice cream parlor and a pizza window. It also has the Abracadabar lounge, Jelly Rolls piano bar, and a dance hall.

This is a lovely area to walk with your coffee in the morning, or to sit in the sunshine and grab lunch.

But in the evening, the boardwalk night life is truly spectacular. Live performers and midway games line the boardwalk, and it’s just a lovely place to stroll under the lights.

The Location

The reason we keep going back to the Boardwalk Villas is the location. It is a very short walk to EPCOT, and about 15 minutes walking distance from Hollywood Studios. There is also boat transportation to both EPCOT and Studios, as well as to the other area resorts around the lagoon.

On top of that, there is very easy access to the Skyliner station if you feel like resort hopping or taking a more relaxed ride over to Hollywood Studios.

Recap

This is a lovely resort, with theming that is great for both adults and kids. The Boardwalk vibes both day and night and the excellent location means this is a resort we will keep coming back to!
