Welcome to my first fuss-free room tour! There are so many great video tours of this amazingly beautiful room. If that’s what you’re looking for, I recommend this video by The Magic in the Music. Instead, I’m going to give you a day-3 tour (we all know your room only looks magazine perfect for like, 10 minutes, right?) of all of the really important things you need to know about the 1-bedroom suite at Disney’s Riviera Resort.
First off, the Riviera 1-bedroom suite includes a full kitchen, dining nook, living room with 2 murphy beds–1 queen and 1 twin, a master bedroom with a king bed, a divided bathroom with a toilet, sink, and shower on one side and a jetted tub and sink on the other, and a large entry way with a laundry closet. Let’s look at the details.
Kitchen
The kitchen includes a full size fridge, oven, microwave, and dishwasher. The cabinets are stocked with all of the dishes you might need, including place settings for 8, pots and pans, toaster, coffee maker with coffee pods and tea, and dishwashing supplies.
There was only one day’s worth of dishwasher soap, so if you’re staying longer, you’ll want to bring your own.
The dining nook is plenty large enough to fit our family of 5.
Living Area
The living area contains lots of cubbies and containers which were great for storing the kids’ backpacks and sleeping stuff during the day.
The room is still very spacious even with both murphy beds folded down.
And the smaller one was large enough for my 6’2” teenager to sleep on it comfortably. There are outlets with USB plugs in the headboards of both murpheys, and all over the room–14 USB outlets total!
Master Bedroom
The master bedroom is also very spacious (look how small the king bed looks!), and has lots of drawer space, closet, space, and enough space under the bed to slide suitcases. There is a large TV above the dresser and another one over the twin murphy in the living area.
Bathrooms
The divided bathroom has a jetted tub and a large vanity with open shelving space for storage. There were 4 towel bars loaded with towels and washcloths. This room connects to the master bedroom and the other bathroom with sliding doors on both sides.
In addition to the toilet, the other half of the bathroom has a walk-in shower with a handheld shower head and a rainfall shower head, a bench seat, and a clothesline for your swimwear. There were 4 more towel bars full of towels, 2 hooks that easily held 2 towels each, and a vanity with more cubbies for storage.
The entry area has coat hooks and a shelf, which was a great place for the kids to drop their magic bands and pin lanyards when we came back to the room. And a very large closet with vacuum, safe, iron and ironing board, extra bedding, and laundry bag.
There is also a nice sized laundry with a collapsible basket and detergent and fabric softener for one load.
Balcony
The room also has a nice sized balcony that opens into the main living area and the master bedroom. This was a standard view room, so we looked over the parking lot. However, we could see the EPCOT ball lit up at night, and would have had a great view of the fireworks, but we chose to watch them from Toppolino’s instead.
Conclusion
The Riviera 1-bedroom suite was a great room for a family of 5, with tons of floor space and lots of storage to help keep the kids’ stuff from getting everywhere. If you’re a DVC member, or are coming in the off season when prices are lower, we definitely would recommend these rooms for people with kids, or anyone wanting to do their own cooking.
